Prowler Pictures is headed to Scotland! The company’s production of “Sacred Creatures” (dir: Frieda Luk) has been selected to the Edinburgh International Festival for its World Premiere in August, where it will compete for the Sean Connery Prize for Excellence In Filmmaking. Produced by Jefferson Moneo and edited by Fabiola Caraza, the film was an interprovincial co-production with Friange Films in British Columbia as well as an international co-production between Canada and Italy. “Sacred Creatures” was made with the support of Creative Saskatchewan, CBC Films, and Telefilm Canada.
SYNOPSIS
Three estranged siblings reunite in Italy years after the middle sister has a psychotic episode she believes to be a spiritual awakening. As her behavior grows increasingly strange, tensions between the siblings rise while a group of local acolytes finds her increasingly compelling.
Olivia Luccardi (It Follows, Orange Is The New Black) stars alongside Tony-nominated actor James Cusati-Moyer (Slave Play, Inventing Anna) and Romina D’Ugo (I Like Movies, Designated Survivor).
