Congratulations to Dawn Bird, a ScreenSask member of the Board of Directors and a life-long learner, for being selected into the Reel World Screen Institute Emerging 20 Program
Now in its 25th year, the five-month Reelworld Emerging 20 (E20) Program is funded by RBC, Telefilm Canada, Ontario Creates and ACTRA. The 2026 program began in mid-February and is designed to help emerging screenwriters develop a finished, polished script.
Dawn Bird was one of ten writers selected under the film stream for her feature script “Letters.” She will receive one-on-one story editing and advanced training in storytelling, character, structure, and pitch development. Dawn has been paired with season story editor Jessica Landry, to help strengthen both her craft and project.
The program will conclude with the Emerging 20 Face2Face. This is a round-robin style mixer wherein participants will have the chance to meet one-on-one with networks, broadcasters and producers in a series of 15 minute meetings.
