ScreenSask members gathered for the organization’s Annual General Meeting on July 29, 2026, at the Saskatoon Club in Saskatoon. Board elections were conducted electronically in the weeks leading up to the AGM using SimplyVoting, allowing members from across the province to participate in the election process.
The AGM marked both a farewell and a welcome as members elected the organization’s Board of Directors for the coming year.
ScreenSask extends its sincere thanks to Michael MacNaughton, who completed his term as both President and Board Member. Michael’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to Saskatchewan’s screen industry helped guide the organization through another year of growth and progress. We are grateful for his service and many contributions to the ScreenSask community.
Members elected Joanne McDonald as the Industry Services Representative, and the Board subsequently appointed her as President. Joanne brings extensive industry knowledge and a strong commitment to supporting Saskatchewan’s screen sector.
Returning to the executive is Hannah Hermanson, who will continue serving as Vice President.
The Board also confirmed several directors in leadership roles. Dawn Bird moves into the role of ACTRA Representative while continuing as Finance Chair. Allia Janzen was acclaimed as a Producer Representative and remains Governance Chair. Steve Allen was acclaimed as a Producer Representative and continues as Co-Chair of the Community Engagement Committee, alongside Celeste Pinder, who returns as the IATSE Representative and Co-Chair of the committee.
Joining the Board as newly elected Open Seat Members are Karla Weber and Douglas Luciuk.

Together, the 2026–2027 Board represents a broad cross-section of Saskatchewan’s screen industry, bringing experience from production, labour organizations, industry services, and independent creators. Their collective expertise will help guide ScreenSask as it continues to advocate for a strong, sustainable, and growing screen-based media sector in Saskatchewan.
