Kevin DeWalt of Minds Eye Entertainment recently shared with ScreenSask an exclusive look at the new November 1963 movie poster. Shot in Winnipeg, Manitoba, during the summer of 2025, the film explores the events surrounding the assassination of John F Kennedy, and was directed by Academy Award-nominated Roland Joffé (The Killing Fields).
November 1963 is produced by Minds Eye president and CEO Kevin DeWalt, with the film writer Nicholas Celozzi, who is also a producer. Carrie Wilkins is a co-producer on the project and international sales are handled by Daniel Bour of Germany’s K5 International.
“The screenplay draws from firsthand accounts and exclusive insights from the Giancana family. As boss of the Chicago Outfit, one of the most powerful Italian-American criminal organizations in the United States during the 1950s and early 1960s, Sam Giancana became widely known for his ties to the Kennedy family during John F. Kennedy’s presidential campaign and administration.”
The film stars John Travolta (Pulp Fiction), Robert Carlyle (The Full Monty), Dermot Mulroney (Anyone But You), Mandy Patinkin (The Princess Bride), Jefferson White (Yellowstone) and Thomas Fiscella (Jersey Boys National Tour).
Visual Effects post production was done in Saskatchewan and some Sask crew worked on the film in Winnipeg.
Production was made possible through the Feature Film & Television Production Grant from Creative Saskatchewan and with the participation of Manitoba Film & Music.
