Canada-Ireland 180: invitation to send expressions of interest by April 14.
Culture Ireland and the Embassy of Ireland in Canada are currently inviting expressions of interest from arts presenters, arts and cultural organizations, artists and their representatives to participate in Canada-Ireland 180. This landmark cultural initiative, to be held in 2027, will commemorate 180 years since the mass exodus from Ireland to Canada in 1847 as a result of the Great Famine.
Canada-Ireland 180 aims to develop Canadian audiences for Irish arts, as well as foster Irish-Canadian cultural partnerships and collaborations, by presenting a vibrant, contemporary and diverse program across Canada.
The Department of Canadian Heritage is pleased to work with the Embassy of Ireland to Canada to advance planning for the initiative, which will include a year-long program of artistic, heritage and cultural activities across Canada in 2027.
