Are you ready to take your camera craft to the next level? On Saturday, April 11, 2026, a group of 12-15 applicants will be selected for an intensive Advanced Camera Workshop — an exceptional professional development opportunity brought to you by RAW Camera Company, Play Creative, and ScreenSask..

This one-day, hands-on workshop is designed for working camera crew who already have real-world set experience and want to grow their technical and creative skill set under the guidance of industry professionals from RAW Camera Company and Play Creative, including RAW Camera Company principals Pieter Stathis, CSC and Kelly Fennig, and Mike Maekelburger from Play Creative.

Participants will learn on and work with a variety of cameras and lenses, including Arri Mini LF, Sony Venice, and RED Monstro, and an assortment of spherical and anamorphic glass.

Who Should Apply

This workshop is designed for people with some experience as DOPs, camera operators, camera assistants, and DITS who want to advance their skills using specialized equipment to deepen their technical proficiency.

Minimum eligibility: at least 2 years of professional set experience in camera or related departments.

Applicants must submit:
– A current resume
– A list of credits including the project’s director and/or DP
– A 30-second pitch video explaining why you should be selected
– 2 industry references

Application Deadline: 11:59pm March 26, 2026
Selected participants will be notified by March 30th.

Why This Workshop Matters

This intensive session combines expert mentorship, real equipment engagement, and collaborative learning — bridging the gap between set experience and confident performance in the roles of cinematographer, camera operator, camera assistant, and DIT.

Whether you are tightening your workflow or expanding into higher responsibility roles, this is a rare opportunity to train alongside working professionals with real-world industry insight.

Submit your application to ScreenSask by March 26, 2026 and get ready to elevate your craft alongside Canada’s creative community.
