Regina’s Ideation Entertainment is pleased with Moose Jaw’s Western Development Museum (WDM) invitation to partner on the premiere screening of Airborne, a new mini-documentary.
Prairie Wings: An Evening with CF-SAM and Airborne Takes Flight at WDM Moose Jaw is a unique after-hours celebration on Saturday, July 18, 2026. This family friendly event takes place in the WDM Moose Jaw’s Aviation Gallery, home to the historic CF-SAM air ambulance aircraft featured in the documentary and where a portion of the feature was filmed.
This milestone celebration also recognizes the significance in the province’s history for both organizations, as 2026 is Saskatchewan Air Ambulance’s 80-years anniversary, and Moose Jaw’s WDM, is in its 50th year.
Produced with financial support from a SK Arts grant, Airborne tells the remarkable 1948 story of the first baby born in Saskatchewan air. Director/Producer Myrna Petersen assembled a small but talented local film crew including Lucas Frison (DOP), Kyle Parkinson (Sound), Graydon Eskowich (Editor/Colourist), Karla Weber (Locations) and Abbey-Taylor Weber (Poster design).
The project has taken on even greater significance following the passing of one of its key interview subjects, Marie Dubreuil, at age 105.
“We are honoured to have captured Marie’s story and legacy on film,” Myrna states. “Airborne celebrates not only a remarkable moment in Saskatchewan history, but also the people who dedicated their lives to providing medical care and transportation across our province.”
