Job Title: Summer Student – Industry Programs & Communications
Organization: ScreenSask
Location: Regina, SK (hybrid may be considered)
Term: 360 hours (approximately 9–12 weeks
Compensation: $25/hour

 

About ScreenSask

ScreenSask is the provincial industry association dedicated to advancing Saskatchewan’s film, television, and digital media sector. We support industry growth through advocacy, training, workforce development, and industry-building initiatives.

 

Position Overview

ScreenSask is seeking a motivated and organized Summer Student to support our core team across programs, administration, and communications. This role is ideal for someone interested in the screen industry who enjoys working across multiple areas—from coordinating training initiatives to creating engaging digital content.

You will work closely with the Executive Director, Director of Workforce & Industry Development, and Operations Manager to help deliver key programs, including our apprenticeship stream, while also supporting day-to-day organizational activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

Program & Training Support

  • Assist in coordinating apprenticeship stream training and related activities
  • Support participant communications, scheduling, and logistics
  • Help track program participation and maintain records

Administrative Support

  • Provide general administrative assistance across the organization
  • Support meeting coordination, note-taking, and document preparation
  • Maintain organized digital files and databases

Communications & Content Creation

  • Create video and social media content highlighting ScreenSask programs and participants
  • Assist in managing social media channels and content calendars
  • Capture behind-the-scenes content at events and training sessions
  • Support basic graphic design and promotional materials as needed

Qualifications

  • Currently registered as a student in film/media, communications, marketing, business, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Basic video production and editing skills (e.g., Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar)
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team

Assets (but not required):

  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan’s film and television industry
  • Experience with event coordination or program delivery
  • Familiarity with Adobe Express, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools

To be eligible, applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements:

  1. Be registered as a student in a recognized Canadian PSE institution.
  2. Be legally allowed to work in Canada according to the laws and regulations of the province or territory where they work.
  3. Be either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person granted refugee protection under the law (Social insurance number does not begin with 9)
