Nakon’i’a with Kunsi, a new Indigenous-language educational puppet television series is currently in production at Bamboo Shoots Studio in Saskatoon. Produced by Start Productions Inc. in association with Angel Entertainment, the 13-episode series is designed primarily for children ages 5–9 while also encouraging intergenerational learning among families, caregivers, and Elders.
Nakon’i’a with Kunsi 13-episodes focus on teaching the Nakoda language and culture to young audiences through storytelling, songs and humour. Each episode features Knowledge Keeper Theresa O’Watch and her lively puppet companion Kunsi, who speaks entirely in Nakoda. Together, they guide viewers through words, phrases, cultural teachings, and stories designed to make language learning engaging, joyful, and accessible.
