The 2026 Regina International Film Festival & Awards (RIFFA) hosts their annual event from August 12-22 2026, with 6 days of online screenings before 5 days of in-person screenings & events, culminating in their awards ceremony.

Having received 468 film submissions to their 10 categories, RIFFA judges have a big job ahead to evaluate and select films for the mid-July announcement. This year’s festival promises to showcase some superb films as RIFFA celebrates world cinema, champions new voices, and strives to showcase the best of Saskatchewan talent.

Recent announcements from RIFFA’s programming and RIFFA Academy, their educational arm, signifies their commitment to support and assist in the professional development of Saskatchewan’s emerging film industry.

2026 Screenwriting Fellows has been awarded to:

  • Rhauni Zoutman, a screenwriter based in Manitou Beach.
  • Esfandiar Baraheni, an Iranian-Canadian actor and filmmaker.
  • and Murray Grant.

Launch Pad 2026 Winner is Arolda Dufour Bowes to support the production and distribution of her film project Piyak Oskân (Family).
