ScreenSask’s Apprenticeship Stream Program officially launched on April 1, 2026.
This program helps Saskatchewan producers build crew capacity while giving emerging local crew valuable on-set experience.
Through the initiative, eligible productions can access financial incentives to help offset the costs of bringing out-of-province crew to Saskatchewan when qualified local crew are unavailable. In return, each incoming crew member (“mentor”) is paired with a local apprentice for hands-on training within that department.
The goal of the program is to attract more production to Saskatchewan while creating more employment and long-term career opportunities for local crew.
