Telefilm adopts a Business Policy on Generative Artificial Intelligence
Telefilm informs the industry that it has adopted its first business policy on artificial intelligence (AI). Generative AI evolves quickly, particularly in the audiovisual sector. Its use in projects creates challenges that make it necessary to adopt a policy in order to oversee it.
Following consultations with industry members, Telefilm has adopted a business policy on generative AI to guide its use in funded projects. The term project encompasses films, screenplays, festivals and all other activities funded by Telefilm. This policy applies to all of Telefilm’s funding programs and is complementary to the guidelines of each program.
The policy is based on four important principles:
Preserving the role of humans at the heart of creation;
Disclosing the use of AI (transparency);
Encouraging innovation;
Ensuring that intellectual property remains with the applicant.
