ScreenSask is pleased to announce that six Saskatchewan-based writers have been selected for the ScreenSask Writers Room: Web Series & Verticals Edition!

This edition’s cohort are:
- Jeff Evans-Todd (Saskatoon)
- Amy Hameluck (Regina)
- Tobi Lampard (Regina)
- Timothy Lenko (Moose Jaw)
- Karla Weber (Regina)
- Jordan Wedzina (Saskatoon)
Over the next four months, participants will take part in workshops with leading Canadian writers and showrunners, and two in-person writers room weekends led by Ken Craw (Family Law, Heartland).
The goal: to develop their concepts into market-ready short-form series packages. It all culminates in a live, public table read of the projects our cohort has written.
By the end of the program, each writer will have created a three-page mini-bible and three first draft scripts ready to be produced as a social media vertical or web series, along with a creative summary suitable for submission to the Independent Production Fund’s Short Form Development Program.
Writers Room facilitator Ken Craw is a Writer/Co-Executive Producer on the Corus/CW series FAMILY LAW as well as Writer/Co-Executive Producer on the long-running CBC and Netflix ratings/views hit HEARTLAND, yielding him multiple award nominations.
He was also the showrunner on the CBC Gem series HUDSON, has written for the successful series SULLIVAN’S CROSSING, WHEN CALLS THE HEART, CEDAR COVE and the critically acclaimed CTV dramedy series ROBSON ARMS. In addition to Ken’s work in scripted drama he is also a Canadian Screen Award-winning documentary-maker (BEN JOHNSON, DRUGS & THE QUEST FOR GOLD, GIRLS DON’T FIGHT, CHASING THE TANGO HIGH).
This program is presented in part through funding from Creative Saskatchewan.
