I’m an emerging filmmaker currently working as an editor, AD and producer. However, I enjoy to write and direct my own projects from time to time. Growing up in small town Saskatchewan, I was surrounded by the trades. Everyone was either a farmer, miner or construction worker. Nothing ever really called out to me. I was a quiet kid, kept to myself and read my books. I never wanted to work in the trades, for a while I thought I’d be trapped doing something I didn’t love. But in high school I found a deep appreciation for drama and football. I ended up winning best director for a school play and felt so much joy. I realized I loved to entertain, to create art.
But football was so much fun so I put that on hold.
I played five years for the Saskatoon Hilltops in the CJFL, winning two national championships, learning life skills and drinking way too much. Once I aged out of the program I knew what I wanted in life. I took the plunge and studied at the Recording Arts Institute of Saskatoon (RAIS), getting my diploma in Motion Picture Arts with honours in 2024. I’ve been lucky enough to sustain myself with creative work since. I’m currently employed by Bamboo Shoots as an editor and producer, but I’ve been recently exploring my love for AD work in television and short film.
Filmmaking is my life, what I know I’m meant to do; so if I can stay in Saskatchewan doing it then I’ll be living the dream.
