Export Development Canada (EDC) has committed up to $5 billion in additional financing and insurance capacity through the EDC Trade Impact Program (TIP) to help eligible Canadian exporters manage the impact of tariffs, adapt to market uncertainty and keep their businesses moving forward.
Through the program, eligible businesses can access support tailored to their needs. This can include:
- Increased access to working capital
- Longer tenor/amortizations for term loans
- Extended pre-shipment coverage for receivables
- Foreign exchange solutions
- Adapted coverage for certain customs obligations
In response to the current trade environment, EDC is enhancing TIP to support a greater number of businesses, including small- and medium-sized businesses anticipated to be most affected by new US tariffs. EDC is expanding its risk appetite to give more businesses access to TIP support as they adapt to changes in international trade.
