Creative Export Strategy – Permanent Renewal!

Canadian Heritage Min. Marc Miller has announced the permanent renewal of Canada’s Creative Export Strategy, which will continue supporting Canada’s creative industries in expanding their international reach. Starting in 2026-27, the federal government will devote $95 million to the strategy over five years, as well as $19 million annually afterward.

Following the announcement of the renewal of the Creative Export Strategy (CES), the 2026-2027 intake of the Export-Ready Stream (ERS) of the Creative Export Canada (CEC) program has been launched.

The application package is now available for projects with expenses planned between April 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027; and the deadline to submit an application is June 10, 2026.

You must first complete the following Eligibility Quiz to assess the eligibility of your organization and your project to apply. If you answer “yes” to all the questions in the Quiz, you may submit your application package.

Are You eligible for ERS funding?

• Are you an entity incorporated under the laws of Canada, a province or a territory? Yes / No
• Are you a for-profit company or not-for-profit organization? Yes / No
• Are you a Canadian-owned and –controlled entity? Yes / No
• Do you have a maximum of $500M in annual revenues, including the parent company’s annual revenues? Yes / No
• Do you have at least one full-time employee (who receives a salary and works a minimum of 30 hours per week), which can include the owner if they receive a salary? Yes / No

Is your project eligible for ERS funding?

• Is your project having expenses between April 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027? Yes / No
• Is your project export-ready (content is ready to be marketed, export research/plan is fully developed)? Yes / No
• Do you expect to generate export revenues from this project? Yes / No
• Does your project support one or more of the following creative industries: artistic craft; audiovisual; design (limited to exhibit design, fashion design, artistic product design, public art design, urban design); music; performing arts; publishing; visual art; and/or interactive digital media (in combination with one of the industries listed above)? Yes / No
• Does your project have a minimum total cost of $150,000? Yes / No
• Do you own the intellectual property rights for content, or if the project involves content with a third party’s intellectual property, do you own the rights of usage for the markets targeted by the project? Yes / No
