Busy Summer for Sask Film Industry

Bolstered by a new crew grant launched by ScreenSask, CBC Saskatchewan reports on the busy summer film crews in the province have been enjoying. With the aid of the Apprenticeship Grant, new workers have been mentored building Saskatchewan’s film crew base.

Robert Hardy, Screen Sask’s Executive Director, reports that “about 25 people have been mentored through the program so far, with another 30 to 40 expected in the coming months.”

“We have a goal that in the next 10 years, we’re going to turn this into a half-a-billion-dollar industry,” he said. “Things like the apprenticeship stream training program are how we’re going to do it.”
