As Saskatchewan’s screen industry continues to grow, strong governance, accountability, and transparency remain essential to maintaining confidence in the organizations and programs that support our sector.
ScreenSask is committed to operating with the highest standards of organizational governance. Our Board of Directors and leadership team are guided by a formal Code of Ethics and Conduct Policy that requires directors, committee members, and staff to disclose and appropriately manage actual, potential, and perceived conflicts. ScreenSask also maintains financial controls, approval processes, reporting requirements, and Board oversight mechanisms designed to ensure responsible stewardship of member, industry, and public resources.
These principles extend to the programs we administer on behalf of the industry. Initiatives such as the Apprenticeship Stream Training Program include documented eligibility criteria, formal application and approval processes, standardized training plans, reporting requirements, and oversight mechanisms developed in collaboration with industry stakeholders and funding partners. Our goal is to ensure that opportunities are delivered fairly, consistently, and transparently while supporting workforce development across the province.
We are fortunate to work alongside organizations that share these values. ScreenSask has worked closely with Creative Saskatchewan for many years and has consistently found the agency and its staff to be professional, responsive, and committed to fair, accountable, and transparent decision-making. Creative Saskatchewan maintains formal conflict-of-interest policies, financial controls, and governance processes designed to ensure that public funding is administered according to established program guidelines and procedures.

Strong governance is not simply about compliance. It is about building trust, protecting public confidence, and creating the stable foundation needed for long-term industry growth. By working together—industry, government, creators, producers, unions, guilds, and funding agencies—we can continue building a strong, sustainable, and accountable screen sector that benefits Saskatchewan creators, businesses, and communities.
ScreenSask remains proud of its partnership with Creative Saskatchewan and looks forward to continuing our shared work to strengthen Saskatchewan’s screen industry for years to come.
