On Sunday, April 12th, the DGC and ScreenSask hosted the Ultimate PA workshop.
Led by DGC Alberta Location / Unit Manager Mohammad Qazzaz, the intensive one-day session brought together an eager group of participants for an in-depth look at what it takes to succeed as a Production Assistant.
The workshop explored on-set protocols, effective communication, and how to navigate real-world scenarios on set: essential skills for anyone starting out in the industry.
While detailed insights into all film departments were provided, there was a strong emphasis on entry-level PA roles as the primary gateway into the industry. A valuable reminder that every career starts somewhere — and for many, it begins on set as a PA.
ScreenSask would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Directors Guild of Alberta and Saskatchewan, and to Mohammad Qazzaz, for their support in making this training event a success.
We’re thrilled to work with the DGC and grow the industry together!
