Honours Saskatchewan’s SAR Heroes
Community members and local dignitaries, including Minister Alana Ross, gathered at the Mahon Auditorium in the Prince Albert Public Library on Monday night, January 19, 2026, for the Premiere Night of Searchers Season 1. The new documentary series, produced by Angel Entertainment, honours the vital work of Indigenous Search and Rescue (SAR) teams and recently launched on APTN.
The evening featured a screening of two episodes, followed by an engaging Q&A session where the audience connected directly with the production team. The event provided a unique opportunity for the community to celebrate the real-life heroes featured in the production
Producer Wally Start reflected on the heart of the project: “The intention of Searchers was to honour the men and women who volunteer their time to search for those who have gotten lost. They are the true heroes of this story. This series is about real people, real families, real outcomes, and about a community of volunteers who drop everything when the call comes in.” Read more.
